Insight_is_the_bridge_between_raw_information_and_true_understanding

This site documents ongoing research at the intersection of knowledge systems, measurement, and artificial intelligence—exploring how we extend, augment, and embody cognition through human-machine collaboration.

The questions may have evolved from measuring human behavior to measuring meaning itself, but the core challenge remains: how do we make the invisible visible, the tacit explicit, and the immeasurable measurable?

Background

Lumos Insight began with psychometric survey development—inferring meaning from human behavior through validated measurement. This foundation in cognitive assessment design—operationalizing constructs, validating instruments, measuring latent variables—now informs how I approach questions of semantic quantification and human-AI interaction.

More recently, I’ve been exploring related questions:

  • How do we quantify and represent meaning in language?
  • How do knowledge and understanding emerge from human-AI collaboration?
  • What changes in how we think when our cognitive partners are machines?

Posts here trace a path from knowledge creation (SECI model, cognitive scaffolding) through semantic quantification (measuring meaning, embeddings as linguistic objects) to the lived experience of thinking with AI systems (journaling, local augmentation, System 0).

Alongside this theoretical work, I’m experimenting with augmentation software— exploring the interface between human cognition and machine intelligence through hands-on development and testing. This work draws on principles from cognitive assessment design: how do we instrument thought, measure understanding, and validate that our tools actually augment rather than distort?

Approach

This is research in motion, not marketing. Posts are snapshots of thinking in progress—experiments that failed, methods being refined, questions still open. Some build on previous work. Some contradict it. That’s the point.

The underlying thread: understanding how humans and machines create, share, and augment knowledge. The method: treating learning as a lived process, documented in public.
